Queen Victoria Building

Historical shopping.
Built in 1898, the Queen Victoria Building was the Sydney Market and sheltered traders, tailors, textile sellers, florists and hair dressers. Today it is one of Sydney inhabitants' favourite shopping centres. The French designer Pierre Cardin has even called it the most beautiful in the world. Behind its Victorian facade, there are over 200 shops, bars and restaurants. You can find all the important brands in sports, jewellery and fashion. You can even visit a Native Australian art gallery. Once you are done shopping, you can sit down in one of the centre's tea shops.
